Dedicated gender and diversity leader with over 15 years of experience at the global, regional and local levels, in multilateral banking, academia, government, and civil society, I bring a proven track record of advancing transformative initiatives. I offer in-depth expertise in contemporary gender and diversity issues, with a strong ability to maneuver intricate policy environments and involve diverse individuals in bringing about change. As a leader, whether in a formal or informal capacity throughout my gender-related journey, I have consistently fostered synergistic engagement environments, collaborated with diverse stakeholders, and demonstrated a strategic and creative approach to driving initiatives. My strong interpersonal and communication skills have allowed me to influence stakeholders at all levels, from senior management to external partners. In charge of Curriculum Development, Student Advising, managing the admissions process, Scheduling, Programme Evaluation, Quality Assurance, Strategic Planning and Faculty coordination.
Acted as the representative of the Women's Institute Director in all technical aspects related to the Uruguayan Care Policy and the implementation of gender-sensitive budgeting, among other more specific instances.
Advised the Director of Social Programs, who reported to the minister, on the inclusion of gender-related matters in the institutional and programmatic redesign process of the Uruguayan Ministry of Social Development.
As a Gender and Inclusion Executive at CAF, I have:
- Participated in the origination of more than 50 operations and ensured gender-mainstreaming;
-Successfully pleaded for the earmarking of at least 1% of project's funds to finance stronger Gender Action Plans;
-Updated CAF's Gender Safeguard to new standards and installed the paradigm of do-more-good instead of do-no-harm, and incorporated gender risks into the social and environmental risk assessment documents and procedures;
-Developed the corporate methodology to measure the gender-responsiveness and the gender-evaporation during the lifecycle of the projects;
-Led several initiatives in collaboration with the Human Capital Department to drive organizational change towards a culture with zero tolerance for gender discrimination.
As the Coordinator of the MA in Gender and Equality Policies Program of Flacso Uruguay, I:
-Led the team that designed and implemented the first academic degree on Gender in Uruguay;
-Coordinated a Thesis Tutor's team that improved for three consecutive years the indicators of terminal efficiency of the MA.
In my role as the Advisor to the Director of the Women's Institute of Uruguay, I:
-technically represented the Director of Inmujeres in the discussion tables during the installation of the Uruguayan Care system and contributed to eliminate numerous gender biases;
-Led the process of training and discussion of Gender-Sensitive Budget Initiatives and directly contributed to the decision of the authorities to open a project line in the structure of the National Budget to charge the State's expenditures in gender and diversity
As the Gender Advisor to the Uruguayan Minister of Social Development, I successfully integrated affirmative actions in several programs ands policies, previously gender-blind.
